Naïve's API gives AI agents their own email, phone, cloud infrastructure, and LLC formation – the full stack for a company that runs itself.
ENTRY ANGLES
Build a vertical-specific autonomous-company template (property management, wholesale distribution, SaaS sales prospecting) on top of Naïve's existing infrastructure · Design the governance-layer-as-code pattern into any new agent infrastructure project: agent permissions declared in a committed file that agents cannot modify · Target AI automation agencies as the primary customer segment – they are already the fastest-growing segment on Naïve and have clear economic incentives

NAÏVE FOUNDER
“We have some customers who run an entire rental-car agency autonomously.”
A rental-car agency operates reservations, communications, scheduling, and billing without a single full-time employee. The operator set the rules; the agents execute them. That business is live and running on Naïve's platform.
Naïve provides the infrastructure layer that makes a company operationally headless. A single API bundles U.S. LLC formation, email accounts, phone numbers, cloud infrastructure, storage, and payments. An agent using the API can form a company, open communication channels, set up hosting, and run financial transactions – not in weeks but in the time an API call takes to complete.
The governance model is the structural innovation: agents that can spend money and form legal entities require constraints. Naïve handles this through a committed configuration file that declares agent roles, tool permissions, spending budgets, and human approval requirements. No agent can modify the file that governs it. The operator sets the rules once; agents execute within them indefinitely.
The templates are more concrete than the infrastructure pitch. A short-form video template briefs, scripts, and produces original vertical video on a schedule. A recruiting template sources and screens candidates, scores shortlists against role requirements, and hands off to a human for final review. An AI Automation Agency template includes CRM, a public-facing site, and per-client workspaces – the full operational stack for a consulting practice that one person sets up and AI runs.
More than 30,000 developer accounts are active on the platform. Annual run-rate revenue grew 10x over six months to the low double-digit millions. The company has 10 employees.
Total funding is approximately $32 million: a $28.5 million Series A led by Nexus Venture Partners, with participation from Y Combinator, Zetta, Liquid 2, and angels including Gokul Rajaram and JD Sherman, the former HubSpot president.
The Stripe analogy applies at the infrastructure level: Stripe reduced the cost of accepting payments from weeks of bank integrations to a weekend of implementation by removing complexity that was real but undifferentiated. Naïve is betting that company formation, communication identity, cloud hosting, and payment infrastructure are in the same category – complexity that every business needs and no business wants to manage.
The 30,000-developer figure is the more telling signal than the revenue level. At low double-digit millions ARR, average revenue per developer account is modest – but the developers on Naïve are not building for their own consumption. They are building AI automation products and agencies whose own revenue flows are separate. The platform is the pick-and-shovel; developer adoption is the leading indicator for the downstream businesses those developers are building.
The fastest-growing customer segment, by CEO Sean Dorje's own account, is AI automation agencies – professional service firms that sell AI-built operations to clients, then run them on infrastructure like Naïve's. A single developer can manage multiple client accounts if the operational execution is handled by agents, which makes the per-developer economics of the platform very favorable.
One tension to track: the same API that lets a developer run a legitimate rental-car agency autonomously also lowers the cost of operating grey-area businesses at volume. The KYC/KYB steps that currently require human completion are the friction point that limits misuse. As those steps are automated or streamlined, the abuse surface expands. How Naïve manages that tradeoff – through anomaly detection and conservative limits on new accounts – will shape the platform's regulatory exposure over time.
The most direct opportunity in the Naïve model is finding the business categories where autonomous operation is already a credible description of a real working business, not an aspirational pitch. Content production, lead generation, e-commerce catalog management, and B2B data services all have operational patterns that a well-configured agent network can execute with minimal human oversight.
The more interesting question is where the human judgment in a given industry is actually required versus where it is inertia. Most process-heavy professional services – market research, basic legal document drafting, accounting data entry, recruiter sourcing – involve steps that look like judgment but are rule-following in disguise. Those are the steps that yield first, and the verticals that yield fastest are the ones with the clearest input-to-output logic and the most predictable exception patterns.
The specific template opportunity: Naïve ships templates for content, recruiting, and agencies; gaps exist in property management, wholesale distribution, SaaS sales prospecting, and franchise operations – categories with high operational repetitiveness and clear financial metrics that agents can optimize against. A vertical-specific template built on Naïve's infrastructure is faster to ship than a standalone product and inherits the existing developer distribution channel.
The "governance layer as code" pattern – agent permissions declared in a committed file that agents cannot modify, with no self-modification allowed – is the architectural decision worth adopting in any agent infrastructure project, independent of whether it is built on Naïve. It is the mechanism that makes it possible to expand agent capabilities without losing control of the blast radius, and it will become a standard pattern as production agentic systems scale.
